Frank I. “Bud” Andersen, 91, North Haven
Frank I. “Bud” Andersen, 91, of Roberta Rd., North Haven, died Oct. 18 at the Hospital of St. Raphael. He was the husband of Edith I. “Dolly” Lucibello Andersen. He was born in New Haven on Jan. 31, 1919, son of the late Frank G. and Ethel Mordecai Andersen. A resident of North Haven since 1955, Bud had worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years and later worked for the former Victor Nutile Bus Company for 26 years until his retirement in 2000.
Bud served his country faithfully in U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Murray/Reynolds Post No. 76, where he served as vice commander. He was also one of the founders of the Temple Sweethearts Square Dancers.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Roger T. Andersen of Hyde Park, New York, and Wayne P. Andersen and his wife Donna of Bakersfield, California. He is also survived by four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Heather Andersen, and a sister, Elsie Chester.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., North Haven, on Friday, Oct. 22, at 10 a.m., followed by burial with full military honors in the North Haven Center Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday, Oct. 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make all memorial contributions to a charity of one’s choice.
