Francis Wayne Calomino, Guilford
Francis Wayne Calomino of Guilford, beloved husband of Fei-Ying Huang Calomino, died suddenly on Aug. 9 at his home. At the time of his death, he was president of Open Mainframe Systems, a company that provides computer consulting and programming services for the Connecticut Department of Children and Families and other clients. He had been employed as a computer programmer for Sikorski Aircraft of Milford for many years prior to establishing his own business.
An avid skier, he spent many weekends, both winter and summer, at his residence in St. Albans, Vermont. He also skied country-wide at resorts in Colorado and Tahoe, California. When not on the slopes, he enjoyed kayaking on Connecticut’s most picturesque waterways.
Beside his beloved wife, he is survived by his mother, Florence Smith Calomino of Scranton, Pennsylvania, and his sister, Audrey J. Calomino of Harrisonburg, Virginia.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Penn Ave., Scranton, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, Aug. 14, at 11a.m. Burial will be private. Locally, a memorial gathering will be held during the afternoon of Sunday, Aug. 15, at the Country Tavern, 704 Long Hill Rd., Guilford. The Guilford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
