Maria “Mary” Stomboli, 98, Northford
Maria “Mary” Grazia Stomboli, 98, of Forest Rd., Northford, died July 31 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was born in Manhattan, New York, on July 2, 1912, daughter of the late Frank and Catherine Cavanna Stomboli. She had worked for Wallace Silversmith and for Williams Bus Service for the North Branford School System, and later worked for Picker Nuclear until her retirement. Mary was a member of the North Branford Senior Center and a parishioner of St. Monica’s Church where she sang in their choir.
She is survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Lodvic “Lud”, Antonio P., and James Stomboli.
A funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., North Haven, on Tuesday, Aug. 3, at 9:30 a.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Monica’s Church at 10 a.m., followed by burial in Durham Cemetery. Visiting hours will take place on Monday, Aug. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Monica’s Church, 1331 Middletown Ave., Northford, CT 06472.
