05/13/2010 12:00 AMDorothy Charlotte Chambers Brencher, 94, of 12 Wilcox Place, Branford, died at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford, on May 2. She was the wife of the late George Brencher, Jr. She was born in New Haven on Feb. 21, 1916, daughter of the late Horace Eugene and Helen Patricia Doohan Chambers.
She is survived by seven children, George Brencher III and his wife Linda of Branford, Johanna Marie Kimball and her husband Anton of Goshen, Carol Jean Kimball and her husband Michael of Meriden, Frances Elizabeth Teodoro and her husband Reuben of Branford, Mark T. Brencher and his wife Linda of Killingworth, Mary Lou Radovich and her husband Raymond of Branford, and Philip Brencher and his wife Sue Ruocco of Branford. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, George IV, Kurt M., and Daniel E. Brencher; Raymond and Evanica Radovich; Elizabeth Jane Mayne; Thomas Radovich; Mark, Ashleigh, and Kristy Brencher; Roger Kimball; Helen Reed; David and Sarah Kimball; and Jonathan, Nicholas, and Dana Teodoro. In addition, she is survived by a sister, Lois Hogan of East Haven, and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three grandchildren, Laura Frances Brencher, Christopher Kimball, and Brendan Mark Brencher; two sisters, Marion Van Vliet and Regina Miniter; and three brothers, Irving, Edward, and H. Eugene Chambers.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial was held on May 7 at St. Elizabeth Church, Branford. Burial was in St. Agnes Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the James Blackstone Memorial Library Children's Room, 758 Main St., Branford, CT 06405; or to the Archdiocese of Hartford, Office of Radio and Television, 15 Peach Orchard Rd., Prospect, CT 06712-1052. The W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, Branford, was in charge of arrangements.
