01/20/2010 11:00 PMJohn Newman Sievers, 57, died Dec. 26 in Hamden. He was the husband of Paula Jean Sievers. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, on Aug. 24, 1952. He graduated from Wooster College in Ohio and received his MBA at Northwestern University. A former resident of Guilford, he had lived in Connecticut for 27 years. He had been a member of the New Haven Country Club for a number of years and served as a board member at Trinity Lutheran Church. He was also the chairman at the Soundview YMCA. He was a beloved husband, father, and dear friend.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters Catelin Jean Sievers and Hilary Marie Sievers.
A service was held on Jan. 2 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Centerbrook. The Hawley Lincoln
Memorial was in charge of arrangements.
