Grace Elizabeth (Beth) Potter Gardner passed away peacefully on Jan. 29 at her home in Guilford. Beth was born in Connecticut on May 13, 1920, daughter of the late Edward Keeney Potter and Grace Dibble Potter.
Beth graduated from Bates College in 1941 and later received her master’s from SCSU. She served in the Navy during WWII at Brooklyn Naval Hospital as a medical technologist. She retired from Yale University in 1988, and enjoyed golf, tennis, bowling, traveling, and time with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Raymond W. Gardner and her son Richard Gardner. She is survived by her daughters Doris Ghiroli (Dewey-deceased) and Grace Jaspersohn (Paul) of Guilford, and Ruth Anne Winders (Jeff) of Rochester, New Hampshire. She is also survived by her grandchildren Carl, Stacey, Becky, Bill, Jason, Caitlyn, and Matthew; and four great-grandchildren, Alex, James, Emersyn, and Garrett.
Services will be private at a later date.
