Tree Lighting Set for Dec. 6

Downtown Guilford will glow with holiday spirit on Friday, Dec. 6, as the town hosts its annual tree lighting and a full day of family-friendly festivities.

The celebration kicks off at 10 a.m. with events like the Guilford Garden Club’s Holiday Boutique and the Guilford Free Library Holiday Book Sale. Activities continue throughout the day, culminating in the highly anticipated Candlelight Walk and tree lighting at 6 p.m.

Broad Street will be the hub of the holiday magic, offering live entertainment, festive shopping, and dining opportunities. Children can meet Santa, and attendees will enjoy performances by The Royal Court Singers, Guilford High School Chorus, and other local performers.

A cornerstone of the festivities, the Holiday Boutique celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. Organized by the Guilford Garden Club, the boutique will feature seasonal decorations, including wreaths, bows, and lanterns adorning Broad Street. To mark the milestone, the club has arranged special holiday singers to entertain visitors throughout the day.

The celebration also includes a Chili Supper and Wreath & Cookie Sale hosted by Christ Episcopal Church, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

The event concludes at 9 p.m., wrapping up a day filled with holiday cheer. For more information on the schedule of events, visit guilfordct.gov or follow the Town of Guilford on Facebook.
