MPD Kicks Off Annual Toy Drive

MADISON

The Madison Police Department (MPD) is working to make the season a bit brighter for area families. The department has kicked off its annual Toy Fund and Food Drive to benefit local families and children at Yale New Haven Hospital (YNNH). Donations are being accepted through Sunday, Dec. 15.

The annual drive supports more than 56 Madison children and contributes to YNNH's Children's Toy Closet. The department is seeking donations of new, unwrapped toys, board games, books, and gift certificates for children up to age 16. Monetary contributions and non-perishable food items are also welcome.

Donations can be dropped off at the Madison Police Department, 9 Campus Drive, any time—24 hours a day, seven days a week. For those unsure of what items to donate, a wish list is available.

Last year, donations included makeup, Legos, STEM building and mechanical toys, sports balls, and craft kits. One resident even donated a bicycle.
