NBPD Announces Arrest in 2019 Bank Robbery Case

Nov. 7, 2024: The North Branford Police Department (NBPD) is pleased to announce the arrest of Stephen Alberino, a 40-year-old individual, in connection with a 2019 bank robbery at Key Bank on Foxon Road. This successful resolution of the case highlights the tireless and professional efforts of the North Branford Detective Bureau, whose dedication played a pivotal role in bringing the responsible individual to justice.

On December 13, 2019, the North Branford Police Department responded to a report of a robbery at the Key Bank branch on Foxon Road. Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene; however, the suspect had fled prior to their arrival. Despite the initial challenges, the North Branford Police Department, in close coordination with the New Haven State’s Attorney’s Office, pursued all leads and worked diligently to uncover critical information.

Through the relentless efforts of the North Branford Detective Bureau, investigators were able to identify Alberino as the suspect. The detectives meticulously analyzed evidence, developed leads, and conducted numerous interviews to build a solid case. Their professionalism and perseverance were key in obtaining an arrest warrant for Alberino, who now faces charges of Robbery in the First Degree and Larceny in the Second Degree.

Today, Alberino was located and apprehended by the Branford Police Department. He is currently being held on a court-set bond of $250,000 and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 8 in New Haven.
