Stories from the Burying Ground

Docent Lynn Tufts discusses the lives and legacies of individuals buried at the Old Center Burying Ground in North Haven with visitors on Oct. 20. The event was a collaboration between the North Haven Historical Society and St. John’s Episcopal Church. The cemetery was founded with a gift of land from the Reverend James Pierpont in 1714, with the earliest burial possibly in 1723 and the last in 1882.
