The East Haven Police Department (EHPD) has provided an update regarding the tragic death of an infant which occurred on Redfield Avenue in East Haven on Oct. 6. The child, who was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital and later passed away, has been identified as Angel Josiah Rodriguez, born on Feb. 14, 2024.
The preliminary investigation indicated that Rodriguez was in the care of family members in East Haven at the time of the incident. The EHPD noted that Rodriguez’s primary residence was in Ansonia with his mother, who was not on-scene during the incident and was not involved during this terribly tragic event.
As of Oct. 10, the case remained under investigation, and the EHPD stated that further updates will be provided as they become available.
The EHPD extends its heartfelt condolences to Rodriguez’s family and will remain in contact with them during this incredibly difficult process.
