Old Saybrook Firefighter Craig Morrow Receives Prestigious Award from Local Exchange Club

On Oct. 2, the Exchange Club of Old Saybrook/Westbrook honored Craig Morrow, a firefighter from the Old Saybrook Fire Department, for the club's award, Salute to Connecticut's Bravest.

The event was held at Luigi's Restaurant in Old Saybrook. Firefighter Morrow was named the Firefighter of the Year in recognition of his efforts in continuing the highest traditions of the department by his peers. These efforts include Morrow’s enthusiastic, calm, and self-assured responses in all hours of the day and night as a top-10 responder, his desire to learn all that he can about the fire service, his willingness to assist in operations and work details, and his eagerness to assist in training probationary and junior members.

Morrow was presented with his award by Old Saybrook Fire Chief Joe Johnson; along with Stein Roaldset, the Exchange Club's committee chairman; and Rock Martel, president of the Exchange Club.
