– 36% of the total NBHS senior class successfully completed at least one AP course and scored a 3+ on at least one AP exam
– 2024 included the second highest number (141) of AP tests completed (#1 2021- 147) during the past decade
– The number of AP students has been consistent during the past decade despite fluctuations in the size of graduating classes
– Fifteen AP Scholars (students who receive a 3 or higher on three or more exams)
– Seven AP Scholars with Honor (students who receive at least an average of 3.25 on all AP tests and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams)
– Eight AP Scholars with Distinction (students who receive at least an average of 3.5 on all AP tests and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams)
The following message was received from Trevor Packer, College Board Head of AP and Instruction:
North Branford High School has earned a place on the AP® School Honor Roll for the 2023-24 school year!
Research shows that students who take AP courses and exams are more likely to attend college and graduate on time. The students who enter four-year colleges with credit from AP accelerate their path to graduation and build confidence for college success. And even for those who don’t earn college credit, AP coursework provides early exposure to college-level work and contributes to a college-going school culture.
