10/01/2024 11:58 AMThroughout August, The Marketplace at Guilford Food Center allowed its customers to make a significant impact in their community by rounding up their purchases to the nearest dollar. This month-long fundraiser raised $1,288 for Women & Family Life Center (W&FLC), a local nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting women and all families in need in the 14 towns W&FLC serves in Connecticut.
The funds raised through this roundup initiative will directly support their ongoing efforts to empower and uplift those in need. Jennifer Wenderoth-Holster, executive director of the center, said, “We are incredibly grateful to The Marketplace at Guilford Food Center for their invaluable role in hosting this roundup, and of course, their customers who rounded up. By rounding up their purchases, they’ve helped raise over $1,200 to support our mission at the Women & Family Life Center. Their donations are critical in helping sustain the center and the services and resources that are provided at no cost to our participants in our catchment area. Rounds ups like these make a real difference in the lives of local families.”
W&FLC provides personalized support and guidance with programs including career services, divorce workshops, bereavement support groups, individualized appointments with a volunteer financial consultant, and more.
