The Branford Community Foundation (BCF) is pleased to announce the first ever Charity Golf Tournament to benefit BCF, presented by Thimble Island Private Wealth on Monday, Oct. 7 at Pine Orchard Yacht and Country Club, 2 Club Parkway, Branford.
The driving range will open and putting practice will commence at 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch at 11:15 a.m., tourney shotgun start at noon, and dinner and silent auction at 5 p.m.
“We are honored that Thimble Island Private Wealth came forward with this fun way to support BCF,” stated Liza Janssen Petra, Executive Director. “The funds raised through this event will support our operational strength, ensuring we can continue to meet the needs of the Branford Community through our dedicated part-time staff and the tools and resources needed to accomplish our mission.”
Tickets for the BCF Charity Golf Tournament can be purchased at branfordcommunityfoundation.org. Full ticket option includes tournament, lunch, and dinner. Dinner-Only tickets are also available for those who would like to support the event but are not able to participate in the tournament itself.
Both tickets include access to the silent auction taking place during dinner. Auction items include tickets to UConn men’s and women’s basketball games, Quinnipiac ice hockey tickets, tickets to two different Broadway shows, several donations from locally owned businesses, and more.

The Branford Community Foundation, founded in 1980, is a public, nonprofit, tax exempt, charitable trust. It provides an administrative, philanthropic service – a means by which public-spirited citizens may make gifts or bequests, the income from which is distributed for educational, cultural, health, social and civic needs. The Foundation is overseen by the Board of Directors, composed of community leaders who serve without compensation and who have been selected for their knowledge, interest and integrity of judgment. A part-time executive director works with the Board of Directors, and Advisors provide outreach with the community, give guidance to the Board, and help to develop future leadership.
