Press Release from Cindy Golia

On Sept. 1, members of the North Haven Junior Gardeners met at the garden at Faith United Methodist Church to see what they could harvest. They harvested two butternut squash and also picked one small pumpkin and one large pumpkin, along with eggplant, yellow squash, basil, and parsley.

After harvesting in the garden, the group went inside to work on the diorama which it entered into the North Haven Fair. Ms. Mini is the project chair and gave excellent direction to the kids for the project.

This year, the North Haven Junior Gardeners entered some of its vegetables into the North Haven Fair. This includes individual entries for all six club members who were recently harvesting in the garden at the church: Eric (winter butternut squash), James (large summer squash), Regina (yellow summer squash), Joseph (cherry tomatoes), Logan (eggplant), and MacKenzie (pumpkin).
