Press Release, Caruso-Bode Family Annual FARA Fundraiser

On Thursday, Sept. 26, beginning at 6 p.m., the Owenego Inn in Branford will once again host an evening that is magical and filled with inspiration. This year will be a night of purpose as our community gathers for the annual fundraiser in support of the nonprofit Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA).

This year’s event, themed “Living Life with Purpose,” is not just a call to action but a celebration of the shared journey toward finding a cure and embracing life’s goals with dignity and respect.

North Branford’s Caruso-Bode family expresses their gratitude for more than 25 years of community support of this annual event bringing together families, friends, and supporters who believe in the power of goodwill. The evening will be filled with uplifting moments, from loving hands of practitioners to an exciting raffle and silent auction, all designed to foster a spirit of acceptance and mutual respect.

“Each year, we are reminded of the incredible energy that comes from a community united by a common goal,” said Mary Caruso, an event organizer. “Our fundraiser is more than just raising money; it’s about spreading goodwill, instilling respect, and ensuring that dignity and acceptance are at the forefront of our efforts.”

The event will feature local musical performers for cocktail hour, holistic practitioners offering their hands and hearts for guests, and amazing raffle and silent auction donations from near and far, ensuring an embracing experience for all attendees. Funds raised will go directly to supporting FARA’s groundbreaking research, which is crucial in the fight to find a cure for Friedreich’s Ataxia, a rare but devastating neuromuscular disorder that the Bode siblings have lived with for most of their lives.

Join the Caruso-Bode family on Sept. 26 at the Owenego Inn, 40 Linden Avenue in Branford, to be part of a night where every gesture, every donation, and every moment spent together moves us closer to a future free from Friedreich’s Ataxia and a step closer to a kinder, gentler world. Let’s continue to show the world what a community driven by purpose can achieve.
