North Haven Garden Club Hosting Scarecrow Contest and Other Fun Events This Fall

The North Haven Garden Club is holding its annual Scarecrow Contest this fall. All of the proceeds from the contest will benefit the North Haven Children’s Library and North Haven Community Services.
Featuring a carnival theme, the Scarecrow Contest will take place from Saturday, Oct. 12 to Saturday, Oct. 26 on the North Haven Town Green. There will also be a Pumpkin Decorating Contest and a Costume Parade on Oct. 26.
Registration is required for the Scarecrow Contest. The display must be family friendly, free-standing, and secure against windy weather. Digging must be done by hand and must be no deeper than one foot into the ground. The displays must be removed by participants by Oct. 27. Anything which is left will be discarded.
The North Haven Garden Club is not responsible for loss or damage to scarecrow displays. The club reserves the right to use photographs for promotional publication.
Registration is not required for the Pumpkin Decorating Contest, and there is no fee. Participants may bring their decorated pumpkin to the green before Oct. 26. The judging begins at noon.
The Costume Parade is open to all and begins at 2 p.m. on Oct. 26. No registration is required. Candy will be given out to children who attend.
