At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 15, Branford Police responded to the area of 309 East Main Street for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. The initial investigation found that a motorcycle was traveling west on East Main when they collided with another vehicle coming from the opposite direction that turned in front of them.
The motorcycle operator, a 56-year-old resident of Northford, was transported to the hospital where he later passed away from his injuries sustained in the crash. The other vehicle operator remained on scene was was cooperative.
An investigation is ongoing by the accident reconstruction team.
