Essex Library Association Awarded $5,000 Grant for New Early Learning Computer Stations
Press Release from Essex Library Association
The Essex Library Association is thrilled to announce the award of a $5,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Middlesex County. This grant was made possible, in part, through the generous funding of the GSB Charitable Fund, the Ivoryton Congregational Church Fund, and the Jean and Biff Shaw Fund. Grant funds will be used to purchase two AWE Early Learning Computer Stations. This generous grant will significantly enhance the library’s educational resources, providing young learners with interactive and engaging tools to support their development.
The AWE Early Learning Computer Stations are designed specifically for children aged 2 to 8 and come preloaded with over 70 top-rated educational software programs. These stations offer a range of activities in areas such as reading, math, science, and art, making learning both fun and interactive. They are a valuable addition to the library, providing an accessible platform for early childhood education and helping to build foundational skills in young learners.
The Essex Library invites families to visit and experience these free and innovative educational tools.
"We are incredibly grateful for this grant, which enables us to expand our free offerings and better serve the youngest members of our community," said Ann Thompson, director of the Essex Library Association. "These new computer stations will provide a safe and engaging environment for children to explore, learn, and grow, fostering a love of learning that will last a lifetime."
