07/19/2024 09:43 AMTaco-lovers are heading back to the Guilford Fairgrounds as the New England Taco Festival returns for its fourth year on July 27 and 28.
The festival, billed as a one-of-a-kind event, spans over two days, bringing music and entertainment, along with the eponymous tacos. Thousands and thousands of tacos, according to organizers who note that the vendors will offer over 100 different kinds of tacos — everything from carne asada, shrimp tacos, barbacoa, and birria tacos to tacos al pastor, tacos de pescado, and chorizo tacos, and more.
According to organizers, the event will also feature no shortage of adult beverages.
"Tons of different tequila shots, margaritas, Mexican beer, and all your traditional adult beverages [will be] available," according to a post on its Facebook page.
While taco fans are sure to get their fill with the 20 taco vendors and additional food trucks that will fill the fairgrounds, the festival also features entertainment, including mechanical bull rides, donkey rides, bounce houses, mariachi bands, and lucha libre wrestlers. A taco eating contest, chihuahua beauty contest, margarita chug challenge, and an elote eating contest are also scheduled throughout the weekend.
The New England Taco Festival may be all about tacos, but the event is billed as a family-friendly event featuring a Mexican carnival with games, rides, and tons of shopping.
The gates open at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, and remain open until 8 p.m. On Sunday, July 28, the festival will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
A single-day ticket is $19.99, and tickets for both days are $34.99. VIP packages are also available. Children under 12 are free. Tickets purchased online are subject to an additional small booking fee.
