North Branford Reopens Cooling Stations for Heatwave July 15 - July 17

The State of Connecticut has activated its Extreme Hot Weather Protocol with oppressive temperatures and humidity expected starting Sunday, July 14, through Wednesday, July 17. Temperatures will rise well into the 90s over the next several days.
In consideration of the activation of the Protocol and to ensure vulnerable residents have protection available, the Town of North Branford will be opening cooling stations for any residents in need beginning at 8:30 am Monday, July 15, through 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at the following locations:
North Branford Town Hall – 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Mon. -Wed.
909 Foxon Road, North Branford
Atwater Memorial Library – 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Mon. – Wed.
1720 Foxon Road, North Branford
The main entrance at the library location will remain until 8:00 p.m. Those needing cooling shelter will be able to access the main entrance, community room, and bathroom at any point during the day. The Town Hall will be open for shelter only between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
