The North Haven Lions Club has donated $1,000 to Peter’s Rock Association to help defray the costs of rebuilding and replacing bridges which are in need of repair at Peter’s Rock Park.
The park consists of 230 acres which offer hiking, a place to have a picnic, a story walk, and other amenities for all to enjoy. However, the usual wear and tear due to years of use are presenting a challenge for repairs as the needed funds are only derived through donations. The board of the association volunteers its time to constantly groom the park in order to encourage outdoor activities.
The funds for this recent donation were presented by Jim Bennett, North Haven Lions Club president; and his wife, Joan Bennett, the North Haven Lions Club membership chair and Lions Club International Foundation coordinator; to members of the Peter’s Rock Association board in Hugh Davis, president; Joanna Chvisuk, vice president; and Michael Stringer. Jim Bennett and Joan Bennett have been members of local Lions clubs for over 40 years and have dedicated their lives to serving their community.
