On May 1, a gathering was held at the Best Western Plus Hotel in North Haven for the annual North Haven Day of Prayer.
The breakfast was sponsored by Pastor Ed Horne of Faith United Methodist Church, Rev. James Detweiler of Hope Christian Church, Pastor Lisa Sessions-Grey of Life Changing Ministries, Rev. Scott Morrow of North Haven Congregational Church, Rev. Mike Carbaugh of Pond Hill Baptist Church, Father Michael Santiago of St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish, Father Thom Peter of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Rev. Jim DeAngelo of Vox Church (North Haven campus), and Pastor Chris Soto of Word of Faith Christian Center.
First Selectman Michael Freda and State Representative Dave Yaccarino greeted the group at the event.
The Honor Guard from the American Legion presented the flags, with The Star-Spangled Banner sung by Hailey Bayusik.
Each pastor prayed a short prayer for family, media, military, first responders, education, the business community, church, government, and arts and entertainment. There was also a special song performed by Michael Horn, Brianna Audrey, Mark Minotti, and Mary Minotti. Helen Pappas was in attendance to take photos.
This event provided a warm fellowship and delicious breakfast together as a community. This is an annual event, and next year’s event will take place on Thursday, May 1, 2025. For more information, contact office@hopeag.com.
