East Haven Mayor Joseph Carfora is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the Mayor's Merit Awards, a prestigious recognition bestowed upon individuals who exemplify exceptional leadership, community involvement, and outstanding achievements.
The Mayor's Merit Awards celebrate residents of all ages across various categories, including ones for student, resident, business, senior citizen, and public safety. This award serves to honor those who have made significant contributions to the community through their dedication and service.
Mayor Carfora expressed enthusiasm for the launch of the nomination process.
“The Mayor's Merit Award is a wonderful opportunity to highlight the remarkable individuals who positively impact our town,” said Carfora. “We encourage everyone to take a moment and nominate deserving candidates who embody the spirit of East Haven.”
Nominations for the Mayor's Merit Awards are now open and will be accepted until Monday, Aug. 5. To submit a nomination, community members can fill out the online form available at forms.office.com/g/g1QMQkgntY or by scanning the QR code.
The Merit Award Committee, composed of community leaders and volunteers, will carefully review all nominations and select recipients based on their demonstrated commitment to East Haven.
Recipients of the Mayor's Merit Awards will receive special recognition during a celebration at Amarante's on Thursday, Sept. 5.
