MLK Jr. Heritage Foundation is Grateful for Community Support
Press Release, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Heritage Foundation
Thank you to all the volunteers who worked to make the 2024 Artisan Marketplace such a successful community gathering.
We, at the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King (MLK) Jr. Heritage Foundation, are so grateful for the opportunity to meet so many people, tell them about the annual MLK Breakfast, the Black History Month events, and the scholarships for High School graduates and persons who are changing careers pursuing a post-secondary education in any field including the technical/vocational programs.
Our community reach has been enabled by the Town of Branford’s federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding, and support received from the Branford Community Foundation and Guilford Savings Bank, Branford Rotary, First Congregational Church of Branford, St. Stephens AME Zion Church of Branford, Trinity Episcopal Church Branford, and many, many individual sponsors of our breakfast. This year at the Branford Festival we were able to offer a drawing for books, and gift certificates from Branford Beach Donut, Country Farms II, Cynthia’s Flower Shop, Stony Creek Market and Pizza. And Laura “I Love Makin’ Faces” Murphy gave free face paintings to the young.
Our mission is, “To honor the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by enlightening and uplifting our community.” If you would like to join us as a volunteer, or serve on our board, please contact us by mail or email: Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Heritage Foundation, P.O. Box 3335, Branford, CT 06405, or mlkheritage5@gmail.com
