The Branford Board of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Lauren Skultety as Director of Early Childhood Education for the Branford Public Schools.
Skultety’s career spans over two decades, currently serving as the Branford Public Schools Elementary Curriculum Coordinator, a position she held for the past ten years.
Skultety’s additional experiences include six years of experience in special education and five years as a literacy coach.
During Skultety’s tenure in Branford she has played an integral role in shaping the instructional coaching model, student intervention and vertical curriculum alignment at the elementary level. As a leader of professional development, she collaboratively worked with teams on instructional practices and data-informed decision making to enhance student learning.
"I am deeply honored to take on the role of Director of Early Childhood Education for the Branford Public Schools. I'm looking forward to working closely with families and the talented members of our early childhood team to create a joyful and nurturing experience for our youngest learners, Skultety said.
As a student of Providence College, Skultety earned a Bachelor’s Degree in both elementary and special education. Her graduate work at Southern Connecticut State University led to a Master’s Degree in reading as well as a Sixth Year Degree in Educational Leadership. As a member of Kappa Delta Pi, the Education Honor Society, Skultety has exemplified academic prowess throughout her educational career.
Superintendent Christopher Tranberg stated, “It is clear that Lauren has a love and passion for early learning. Transitioning from her current role of Elementary Curriculum Coordinator perfectly positions Lauren to provide leadership for our early childhood programs that will prepare students for success from their beginning moments with the Branford Public Schools.”
