On April 27, four members of the North Haven Garden Club’s (NHGC) Junior Gardeners, with help from two members of the Key Club at North Haven High School, gathered to do extensive work in four garden plots at the “Garden of Eatin’” at Faith United Methodist Church.
The NHGC Junior Gardeners meet every Saturday from May through October at the church. The kids learn firsthand from members of the club how to prep, plant, weed, fertilize, and harvest the gardens. For information on joining the Junior Gardeners, please contact nhgc.jgc@gmail.com.
The NHGC members who prepped the gardens were Cindy Golia, Noreen Adley, Lee Fermo, and Marge Quinn. They received help from Key Club members Christa Colonis and Warren Sola, who proved to be invaluable in helping the NHGC all morning.
