Press Release from Town of Guilford

Guilford First Selectman Matt Hoey has announced that part-time clerk Michael Demino has been named as a recipient of the Guilford Employee Recognition Award.

Hoey, who initiated this program, has encouraged all employees to nominate fellow employees to be recognized for outstanding achievement and performance in their work. The Employee Recognition Awards Committee selected Demino, who was nominated by the entire Town Hall South staff.

The nominating staff explained that ever since Demino has been employed with the building and health departments since 2022, he has worked on various clerical assignments without complaint as he is meticulous and well-organized. Demino has sorted over 10,000 records of septic cleaning by alphabetical and numerical order to create a simple and quick process for the public and staff to find any record. One of his biggest projects involved working on the microfilm records.

“Michael is always friendly and respectful to the staff and public, including saying hello and goodbye to anyone who enters and leaves Town Hall South, and he never leaves without saying goodbye to each employee by name,” Hoey said.

Demino was recognized by other staff as one of the most dedicated and productive employees and a part of the Town Hall South family. He has been with the Town of Guilford since April 2022. Demino received an Employee Recognition Award certificate, as well as a gift card and a Ninja Blender from First Selectman Hoey in recognition of his achievements, all coinciding with his two-year anniversary with the town and his birthday, as well.
