Branford Parks and Open Space Authority Honors Resident
Press Release, Branford Parks and Open Space Authority
Over the past 13 years, Branford's Susan Rood has walked over 23,000 miles on town streets and roads picking up debris all along the way. As a result of her effort to keep the town clean, Branford Parks and Open Space Authority recently honored Rood.
First Selectman Jamie Cosgrove was joined by Open Space Warden John Tolbert at Town Hall, where they presented a plaque from the authority and thanked Rood for her volunteer effort. The plaque expressed the authority’s appreciation to Rood for assisting in “preserving the beauty of Branford.”
Rood, a retired Branford Public Schools teacher from Walsh Intermediate School, indicated she faithfully walks 5 mile a day (except for an occasional bad weather day or commitment), always picking up a variety of debris along the way.
