Branford Mourns 17-year-old High School Senior
Sad news shook Branford and the Branford Public School (BPS) community this morning as a report from Connecticut State Police confirmed that a 17-year-old resident, Isabela Osler, lost her life as a passenger in a vehicle involved in a roll-over accident on I-91 in New Haven at approximately 10 p.m. on April 10.
Osler was a senior at Branford High School. On April 11, Branford Superintendent of Schools Dr. Christopher Tranberg issued the following statement to BPS families and staff:
“It is with a sense of profound sadness I write to share that Isabela Osler, Branford High School senior, passed away last evening. Isabela's caring and compassionate presence will be greatly missed by all those close to her. Please join me in extending sympathy and condolences to Isabela's family.
Grief counseling services will be available for students, staff and families at Branford High School today from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. On call services through the Branford Counseling Center are also available should there be needs in the community over the weekend. The counseling center can be reached at 203-481-4248.
Since my arrival last July, it has been and remains clear that the Branford community quickly comes together to help those when they are in need. Unfortunately, this is among the saddest times when a high level of support and care for one another is needed. Thank you for your ongoing care and support.“
BPS is on spring break this week. Branford High School is located at 185 East Main Street.
