Press Release, Branford Garden Club

The Branford Garden Club recognized four individuals and organizations for planting and maintaining extraordinary gardens in Branford in 2023-2024. Plaques were presented on April 4 at a full meeting of Branford Garden Club members.

Ellen Carlucci represented the Rotary Club and was recognized for updating and maintaining the beauty of Branford Memorial Park. Anda Weyher, a member of the Branford Garden Club, was honored for having the best garden in Branford by a member of the Branford Garden Club. Denise Spinelli White received a plaque for having the best garden by a resident of Branford who is not a member of the Branford Garden Club. Michael DeMars attended the meeting to received recognition on behalf of DeMar’s Landscaping LLC for the landscaping and maintenance of Branhaven Plaza, operated by Kimco Realty, and located at the corner of West Main Street and Short Beach Road in Branford.

The Branford Garden Club members nominated gardens for consideration and Mary Jo Riddle and Rita Gordon of the Branford Garden Club selected the winners as co-chairs of the Branford Community Awards committee.
