After a week’s postponement due to rain, Branford’s annual Robert Marston Easter Egg Hunt went off under brilliant blue skies on March 30 at Foote Memorial Park. The beloved community event was attended by hundreds of kids who hopped to it, cute as bunnies, to grab up candy spread by volunteers.

The candy was collected in waves by age groups including 4 years old and younger, 5 and 6 years old, 7 and 8 years old, and 9 and 10 years old. Branford Parks and Recreation Director Alex Palluzzi Jr. said the event’s turnout was the largest he can recall among all of the hunts that have been co-sponsored through the years by Branford Parks and Recreation Department with the Branford American Legion, Corcoran Sundquist Post #83.

The program is always free for all Branford children ages 10 and under. Additional assistance comes from the Branford Fire Department and, of course, the Easter Bunny.
