The Guilford Center for Children (GCC) now has a lottery system for enrollment in its Early Education program.
The GCC has put a lottery system in place for the fall of 2025. This will provide equity for all those seeking preschool in the Early Education program at the GCC.
To have a child apply to the lottery, the child needs to have been born on or before Sept. 1, 2022. This would make them 3 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2025.
Applications to the lottery will be accepted from Jan. 1, 2025 to Jan. 31, 2025. On Feb. 1, 2025, classroom spots will be determined by the lottery. Once the 46 classroom spots are full, an additional 46 names will be drawn to form a fixed waiting list.
If a child is chosen by the lottery for a classroom spot or a waiting list spot, the appropriate person will be contacted by February 7, 2025.
