The North Haven Rotary Club hosted a captivating speaker at a recent meeting. The speaker was Dominic Mantuano, the executive director of the Connecticut Burns Care Foundation and a fellow Rotarian from the Stratford Rotary Club, who shared his inspiring insights on helping burn survivors achieve their goals.
Mantuano’s talk focused on the work of the Connecticut Burns Care Foundation, particularly its support for the Arthur C. Luf Children's Burn Camp. This camp provides a safe and natural outdoor environment for children aged 8 to 17 who have survived life-altering burn injuries, offering them a chance to heal and connect with others who share their experiences.
The Connecticut Burns Care Foundation goes beyond the camp by providing financial aid to existing burn care units, promoting burn prevention and education for healthcare professionals and the public, and supporting research on burn care advancements.
Mantuano was joined by Pat Patusky, president of the Stratford Rotary Club; and Stephanie Philips, a Rotary District Governor nominee; at the meeting. The North Haven Rotary Club is dedicated to fostering community connections, and this meeting proved to be a wonderful opportunity for members to learn about the impactful work of the Connecticut Burns Care Foundation.
