Press Release from Guilford Art League

The Guilford Art League’s Annual Member Show is on view at the Guilford Free Library through the month of March. The (optional) theme of the show is “Chasing the Light,” which can be seen in many of the pieces on display in the library’s corridor and Meeting Room.

On Sunday, March 17 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., members of the Guilford Poets Guild will be reading poetry inspired by paintings in the show. These ekphrastic poetry readings offer a unique way to see artwork.

There is a wide range of styles and media in this year’s show, including oil and acrylic paintings, watercolors, prints, mixed media, and photography that are reflective of the diverse talents of the league’s 180 members.

Many of the items on display are for sale, and further details may be obtained by contacting Denise Casey at dencasey@comcast.net or Sheila Kaczmarek at sheila.f.Kaczmarek@gmail.com.

The Guilford Art League was founded in 1947 by a small group of local artists. The objective of the league is to promote and stimulate interest in the visual arts. Members and associates of the Guilford Art League are a participating and interactive group of artists who learn and benefit from their association with one another.
