The East Haven Fire Department and the Branford Fire Department responded to a structure fire in a garage behind 57 Hemmingway Avenue in East Haven on March 2. East Haven Fire Chief Matthew Marcarelli said the fire was reported at 3:26 p.m. and reported under control at 4:15 p.m. Firefighters forced entry into the unoccupied building and found heavy fire primarily involving an oil truck belonging to Longobardi’s, which had just come back from a run 15 minutes earlier. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
