02/22/2024 03:58 PMAccording to a press release from Old Saybrook public schools, the Board of Education unanimously voted on Feb. 21 to appoint Christopher Drezek as the new Superintendent of Schools.
Drezek currently serves in the same position in Enfield, according to the release. Drezek will start officially in May but will spend the next three months meeting his new colleagues and the community.
“I am extremely humbled and honored to be the next Superintendent of Old Saybrook Public Schools. Old Saybrook is an amazing community of dedicated staff members and talented students. My family and I could not be more excited to join a district committed to ensuring all students reach and exceed their highest aspirations,” Drezek said in a statement.
The move for a new superintendent came after former superintendent Jan Perruccio announced she would retire from her position last September. Perruccio had served in the role for over a decade.
