The Branford Clean Energy Committee is currently engaged in a special “Energy Storage Solutions” program to educate homeowners about the benefits of having a battery back-up system to power their homes with clean energy. The campaign is supported by the nationally known non-profit organization called SmartPower and is locally known as PowerSmart Branford.
Details about the program will be the subject of a webinar conducted by the Connecticut Green Bank on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The webinar is free to Branford residents. Registering for this virtual presentation can be done by visiting PowerSmartBranford.wee.green and clicking on the events tab at the top of the page.
First Selectman Cosgrove stated, “This is an example of another initiative in which residents can protect themselves and their homes from rising utility rates while creating a more resilient local grid infrastructure, furthering the Town of Branford’s renewable energy goals and I encourage residents to register for this webinar to learn more about this program.”
The presentation will focus on recent changes to the Energy Storage Solutions program, including higher upfront financial incentives and a broader array of eligible equipment. Connecticut’s residents are finding that acquiring a battery system paired with existing or new solar panels may be more affordable than anywhere else in the country.
