Tickets Now on Sale for ‘Legally Blonde’ at GHS
Guilford High School (GHS) Theatre Arts presents its spring musical, Legally Blonde, coming up in March. A fun award-winning musical based on the adored movie, Legally Blonde The Musical follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. Action-packed with memorable songs and dynamic dances - this musical is so much fun!
GHS Theatre Arts Director Cara Mulqueen-Teasdale commented, “I have been blown away by the enthusiastic response this show has gotten at GHS. We have a cast of 53, a technical crew of over 150, and a pit orchestra of 30, with many students being first-time participants in theatre. At first blush, it seems to be a ‘girl musical,’ yet the show is really a ‘people musical’ in which its characters celebrate who they are, strive to be the best people they can be, and learn that amazing people come in all sorts of packages. One of the things I love most about this show is that it never tries to argue, 'Believe it or not, girly girls can be smart!' Instead, it asks us to consider why anyone would ever think they couldn’t be.”
Tickets are now on sale for one of the Arts highlights of the year in Guilford, which typically sells out. Based on popular demand and to allow for greater accessibility to see the show, there will be two matinees again this year. Legally Blonde will run Fridays, March 15 and 22, Saturdays, March 16 and 23 at 7 p.m., and Sundays, March 17 and 24 at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students, seniors, and Guilford Public Schools faculty and staff. All seats are reserved.
Tickets are available online at ghsta.weebly.com or at Guilford Community Center, 32 Church St. (credit cards only; all tickets are digital.)
