Branford Police: Fentanyl Involved in Narcotics Sales Arrests


Branford police arrested Eduardo Carmona, 35, of New Haven, and Michael Conant, 41, of Branford on Jan. 24 as part of an investigation near Harbor Street and Maple Street to address ongoing narcotics sales. On Jan. 24, members of the Branford Police Department and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) were conducting an investigation near Harbor Street and Maple Street to address ongoing narcotics sales. Officers identified and apprehended Michael Conant, 41, of Branford, and Eduardo Carmona, 35, of New Haven. This incident resulted in the seizure of 37 baggies of suspected heroin that tested positive for fentanyl, 29 baggies of suspected crack cocaine that tested positive for fentanyl, and over $2,000 in cash.

Carmona was charged with two counts of sales of a narcotic substance (third offense) and two counts of possession of a controlled substance (third offense). Conant was charged with possession of a controlled substance (first offense). Carmona and Conant are both scheduled to appear in New Haven court on Tuesday, Feb. 6.
