39th Annual MLK Breakfast Resumes In-Person Jan. 15
Following three years of virtual gatherings, the 39th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration and Breakfast returns as an exciting, in-person event to First Congregational Church on the Branford Green. The breakfast will take place Monday, Jan. 15 at 8:30 a.m.
Organized by the Martin Luther King Jr. Heritage Foundation, the annual breakfast gathers hundreds from across the shoreline to honor Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of hope. This year, world-renowned expert on negotiation and conflict resolution, Yvonne Renee Davis, discusses “The Impact of Silence” as the breakfast’s keynote speaker.
The foundation and breakfast committee are excited to be returning to an in-person event. The breakfast has been offered virtually for the past three years and was last held in-person in 2020 in the Branford High School commons.
Attendees represent a shoreline/New Haven County area audience well beyond the foundation’s Branford base. All-volunteer breakfast committee members serve a full, delicious breakfast to attendees. Branford First Congregational Church is located at 1009 Main Street.
Tickets, available to purchase now, are $20 (tickets for students are $5). A link to ticket sales and more information is available at facebook.com/MLKBreakfastCommittee/ or email MLKHeritageFoundation@gmail.com.
Reporters Note: This article has been updated to note that the program was virtual for three years and not four, as originally reported.
