Ivoryton Illuminations Returns for 14th Year
The 14th Annual Ivoryton Illuminations event will see lights and Christmas music bring in the holiday spirit in Ivortyon on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
Events that will take place include a petting zoo on the Green, a kid-oriented Elf on the Shelf scavenger hunt throughout the village, and a cookie decorating booth at the patio of the Blue Hound Cookery and Taproom to benefit the World Food Program at Valley Regional High School. Special events will also be held at Essex Fire Engine Co. #1, Ivoryton Library, the Ivoryton Tavern, and Six Summit Gallery.
Christmas music can be enjoyed throughout the evening wherever lights shine in the village, thanks to iCRV Radio.
“iCRV is going live and playing Christmas music from 5 until 7 [p.m.] on the website. We’ve put Bluetooth speakers in all of the buildings, and we’re going to have some speakers outside so that there’s a consistent music theme,” said Chris Shane of the Ivoryton Village Alliance.
Around 6 p.m., iCRV will pause the music and direct people to the Ivoryton Playhouse, where Santa Claus will meet them and give presents.
Throughout the evening, the Essex Police Department will be holding a Stuff-a-Cruiser donations event. They will collect non-perishable food items and pet food for the Shoreline Soup Kitchens and Pantries.
