NORTH BRANFORD - In North Branford’s Nov. 7 municipal election among four candidates to fill three open Board of Education (BOE) seats, a Nov. 12 recanvass was needed due to a close vote between two candidates. The Nov. 12 recanvass determined the seat was won by Democractic candidate Victoria Lanza, with 964 votes, over closely following Democratic candidate Jana Balsamo, with 959 votes.

In addition to Lanza, the additional two open BOE seats on the Nov. 7 ballot were filled by candidates Kim Dawson (R), who received 1275 votes, and Judy Bannon (D), who received 1090 votes.
