The North Madison Congregational Church’s annual Harvest Dinner is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 4, offering both dine-in and take-out options with two separate seatings in-person at 5 and 6:30 p.m. plus the equally popular take-out option from 5 to 7 p.m.
Around 200 take-out meals are planned for pickup between 5 and 7 p.m. on Nov. 4, and another 200 meals for those who prefer to dine in. Reservations are required by noon on Friday, Nov. 3, and prepayment is encouraged to simplify pickup. Order online for dine-in or takeout at www.northmadisoncc.org/harvestdinner. A receipt confirming the details of the order and the time scheduled for its pickup will be emailed.
The Harvest Dinner tradition dates back at least to the 1920s or even earlier. As Eileen McCann, chair of the Harvest Dinner, is known to say often, “It is more than a fundraiser,” she said. “It’s a time for fun and fellowship.”
Meals feature pumpkin muffins, roast turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, turnips (rutabagas), green beans, cranberry sauce, and home-baked apple or pumpkin pie. Dine-in is $25 for adults, $22 for seniors (65+), and $15 for children (12 and under). Takeout is $22 per meal. Reservations are required by noon on Nov. 3 for all dine-in and take-out meals.
