False Bomb Threat Reported at Madison Beach Hotel
MADISON
Police responded to the Madison Beach Hotel in the morning hours of Oct. 21 after emergency personnel responded to threats of a bomb on the premises.
The threat was reported around 9:30 a.m., according to a statement released by Madison Police Department (MPD) spokesperson Lt. Jeremy Yorke. Emergency units from MPD and Madison Hose Company 1 responded to the alarm. A Connecticut State Police Bomb Squad Unit also responded.
“Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the Connecticut State Bomb Squad aided in conducting a thorough investigation. Following an examination of the premises, no suspicious items were discovered on the property,” said Yorke.
Yorke and the department are requesting any resident with information to contact police immediately.
“The Madison Police Department is committed to ensuring the safety and security of the community, [and] is actively pursuing all leads in relation to this incident. We encourage anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in our ongoing investigation,” Yorke said.
