Dudley Farm to Host Harvest Day
The Dudley Foundation Harvest Day will take place on the grounds of the Dudley Farm at 2351 Durham Road in North Guilford on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There will be a variety of demonstrations, including blacksmithing, sauerkraut making, lace making, laundering, butter-churning, and wool spinning. An antique tractor and truck will be on display for picture-taking and exploring.
Children can enjoy a variety of 19th-century games, along with face painting and pumpkin painting. There will be bean toss games and a play box filled with corn kernels and toys.
Farm animals, including heritage breed chickens, black sheep, and visiting donkeys, will enhance the experience, and organizers will have the usual farmer’s market vendors and live music.
Tours of the farmhouse, the milk house and granary, and the newly opened Quinnipiac Dawnland Museum will also be available.
Admission is free, but donations for the food bank are welcome.
