Curbside Leaf and New Yard Waste Collections for Branford

Branford residents are being notified of the Town’s fall plans for both curbside leaf collection and a newly offered yard waste collection option.

Curbside leaf collection begins Monday, Oct. 23 and will be available weekly through the last day of leaf collection for 2023 on Thursday, Dec. 7. All leaf collection will take place on the same day as regularly scheduled trash and recycling collection.

All leaves must be in brown paper leaf bags only and must not contain any yard waste or grass clippings. No plastic bags will be collected.

For the remainder of 2023, Branford’s new yard waste pick-up option will be available Wednesday, Oct. 25; Wednesday, Nov. 8; and Wednesday, Nov. 22, at homes of residents who have emailed Town Hall to reserve pickup by the Monday of a yard waste pickup week. The email to reserve a pick-up is YardWastePickup@branford-ct.gov. Residents without computer access may call 203-315-0622. Yard waste pickup will resume in April 2024.

Each yard waste pickup is limited to three bundles, barrels, or brown paper leaf bags of less than 40 pounds each, with a maximum material length of three feet and three inches in diameter. No plastic string may be used; only use brown biodegradable twine. No leaves or grass clippings will be accepted. No plastic bags will be collected.
