Branford Fire Department Battles Heavy House Fire

The Branford Fire Department responded on Sept. 19 at approximately 6:06 p.m. to a reported structure fire at 18 Totoket Road, a single-family residence. Upon arrival of the fire department, units encountered a well-advanced fire on the second floor.

Initial reports were that there may be a single occupant inside the structure. It was discovered by fire department units that all occupants were accounted for and safely outside of the structure. One of the occupants did sustain minor injuries and was evaluated by medical personnel on scene.

Currently, the occupants of 18 Totoket Road have been displaced, and the residence has been deemed uninhabitable by the Town of Branford Building Official.

Firefighters from the Guilford Fire Department responded to provide mutual aid assistance. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
