Press Release from American Legion Post 66

The American Legion Post 66 and the Clinton Lions Club co-sponsored two students to the 2023 Legion Boys State Program who were nominated by The Morgan School. The American Legion hosts a Boys State program each summer for outstanding high school juniors. Nearly 28,000 young men were sponsored by local American Legion Posts to attend the weeklong government education program last year. There, they learn the mechanics of the federal government by role-playing as senators and representatives in a complex dual-party system. This year’s program was held at the University of New Haven in June. The American Legion Auxiliary conducts a parallel program for young women through Girls State and Girls Nation. The Morgan School students Robby Estabrook and Davis Walker were honored this year.
